80 Galtung Editorials on Peace and War

Since early 2008, TRANSCEND has been running a media service (www.transcend.org/tms) – managed by Antonio Carlos da Silva Rosa – promoting a solution-oriented peace journalism.
In the preface, Rosa tells the story of this evolving enterprise, soon to add a peace channel with audio and video programs.
Johan Galtung writes an editorial for TMS every week, Rosa has selected 80 of them to commemorate Galtung’s 80th anniversary.
Johan Galtung, born 1930 in Oslo, Norway, lives in Spain, France, Japan and the USA, mainly engaged in mediation and research.
He has so far published about 150 books and over 1500 articles on peace and related issues. 40 of his books have been translated into 33 languages, for a total of 134 book translation.
He founded TRANSCEND: A Peace, Development and Environment Network, in 1993 and was founding rector of Transcend Peace University 2003-2007 and again from 2011 (see www.transcend.org and www.transcend.org/tpu).
Antonio Carlos da Silva Rosa, born 1946 in São Paulo, Brazil, has a B.A. in journalism/communication and an M.A. in political science/international relations from the University of Hawai'i. He is a citizen of Brazil and Portugal but feels as a World Citizen, having resided in eleven countries on three continents. He has been the editor of the TRANSCEND Media Service (www.transcend.org/tms) since its inception in 2008.
